Rapid virus database updates are available for the lifetime of the product, thereby providing the high level of detection capability that millions of users around the world trust to protect their computers. AVG Free is easy to use and will not slow your system down (low system resource requirements). Highlights include automatic update functionality, the AVG Resident Shield, which provides real-time protection as files are opened and programs are run, free Virus Database Updates for the lifetime of the product, and AVG Virus Vault for safe handling of infected files. Version 7.5 includes improved virus detection based on better heuristics and NTFS data streams scanning; a smaller installation and update files; and an improved user interface. Editor review
In this article we will go over some facts about AVG Free Edition 7.5 and whether or not it is living up to its name and reputation. First thing to consider is the fact that it is free. Now don’t get me wrong not everything for free is a good thing, however in this case it is. The free version of AVG Free Edition 7.5 is intended for single home computer use, and not for businesses or any other organization. The free version has plenty of features to keep your computer running the way it was meant too.
Pros
The first pro has already been mentioned… free. Another Pro is the simple installation process and initial setup. When you first open the program you will notice a three main buttons. These buttons help you to choose the most common of task, such as Scan your computer, specifying where you want to scan, and checking for updates. Now I know there are programs out there that check and install there own updates, however if you have been in a hurry or in the middle of doing something and your anti-virus starts to update, then it becomes a major pain. Also for the dial up users out there like myself, the updates are the only thing you can do when it is going on. Otherwise you ended up slowing everything down to a snails pace.

New AVG Free Edition just ok but for better security against virus threats you need Eset Nod32 or Bitdefender or Kasperky antivirus and internet securities.
